Inspiring first collaboration

Initiated by the annual art exhibition Kunst rett vest and Asker kommune, the first collaboration with artist Jan Wanggaard (who is also a former windsurfing world champion!) proved highly rewarding and inspirational. Having led the salvage operation of the Norwegian polarship Maud across the Atlantic, footage from the expedition was showcased and curated in combination with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

Furthermore, the event included an artist talk with visual artist Katharina Zahl Fagervik, Kvam and Wanggaard, who had also built a wooden, silk-draped installation inspired by Maud, commissioned by Kunst rett vest.

The performance took place in Tofte on 15th October as a one-off event during Kunst rett vest 2020. “A phenomenal performance beyond expectations. An entirely new experience”, audience reports in local media review (in Norwegian).

Kvam’s interpretation of Mussorgsky’s Pictures from 2017 can be watched here.
